2011-03-15During the 2011 Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards program year, more than 50,000 students were recognized in their local communities across the country. Out of that 50,000, only 1,300 received National Awards. Marissa Kopco, a junior at Amherst Steele High School, won the American Visions Medal. This means her work of art was chosen as the “Best in Region” nationally. Her piece will now be on display at the 2011 National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Exhibition in New York City in June at Carnegie Hall.View
