Steele High School. They have the honor of being the first class to graduate from the school, which was completed in 1958.
Mayor David Taylor issued a proclamation declaring July 18, 2008, “Marion L. Steele Class of 1959 Day.” In honor of the Mayor’s proclamation, the class donated and presented an Amish-made, inscribed oak bench, which now sits beneath Miss Steele’s portrait in the high school lobby . The inscription reads, “Donated by the Class of 1959.”
Pictured standing on the left of the bench are class members Dale Rosenkranz and Ken Rosenbusch. Jane Cahl and Judy Rosenkranz are shown sitting, and Principal Mike Gillam stands to the right of the bench. | View | | 2009-08-05 | The award-winning Amherst Marching Comets are holding their band camp this week to prepare for the 2009 marching season! | View | | 2009-07-28 | Scenes from the boys soccer UK Elite Camp. | View | | 2009-07-27 | Mr. Baldwin, Mr. Lengyel, and Mrs. Szczepanik after finishing the Shot in the Dark race in Cleveland this past weekend. | View | | 2009-07-20 | Steele's tennis courts being used over the summer. | View | | 2009-07-15 | The Soccer and Cross Country teams practice in the summer heat. | View | | 2009-07-08 | Coach Fell looks on as the football team runs drills. | View | | 2009-07-06 | The Amherst Freshman Football Team gets ready for their upcoming season. | View |
