Because first grade and kindergarten will be moving to Powers School in the fall, the faculty has scheduled Move-Up Days for students in May. Homeroom teachers will send home a note in early May letting parents know what day their class will be going to Powers on the Amherst School Bus. All students will attend the visit at Powers unless a parent sends in a note stating they do not want their child to attend. The dates for the Powers visit will be May 17, 21 and 22. Our trip will last just about an hour. Students will have a chance to tour the building and see the cafeteria, music, art and gym rooms. Students will not know who their teacher or homeroom number is until one week prior to the opening of school. That list will be posted on the web page in mid August.
