Powers News
PTO Trick or Treat Event

Students at Powers will have a Trick or Treat event provided by the Powers PTO. Each child will receive a drink and a bag of Kettle Korn. We are not able to accept any treats for students due to the high number of students with a variety of allergies. Students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 may wear their costumes to school.

***Please make sure students can move about safely in their costume.

***Please No Weapons of any type.

***Students may bring a mask but they will not be able to wear them during instructional time.

Preschool sent home notes previously with students regarding the event.  Please contact the homeroom teacher if you have any questions.

Veteran's Day Community Service Project
Powers Elementary School will be hosting a Veterans Day sock drive for veteran men and women in our area. The Cleveland Wade Park VA asked Powers to collect new pairs of women and men's adult socks. During the week of November 3 - 7, there will be a collection box in our lobby for any size, style, or color of adult socks. Please have your child bring a pair or package to donate. We will deliver them to the facility before Veterans Day to show our thanks for their service to our country.
The Reading Connection-Tips For Reading Success
This year I am pleased to make available to parents monthly editions of the Reading Connection. These monthly sheets provide busy parents with practical ways to promote their children's reading, writing, and language skills. The first quarter editions are in the attachments. I will be happy to provide any parents who cannot access this information on line with a hard copy. Please call the office at 988-8670 to obtain a copy or click the link readingconnection.pdf for all the great tips!
