Make-Up Day
This is just a reminder that school will be in session on Monday, April 21st. Originally, this was scheduled to be an in-service day, but the day is now being utilized to make-up one of our calamity days. Thank you and enjoy the three day holiday weekend!

Camp Invention Discount

Last Day for on-site Registration - May 12th
If you have a child entering Kindergarten, First Grade, or Second Grade in the Fall of 2014, the last day for on-site registration is May 12 from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Powers Elementary School in room 124.  Click on this link for more registration information. 
Full Day Kindergarten & Preschool Tuition
This is a reminder for families who have enrolled their child in the full day kindergarten program and preschool for fall 2014 that the balance of tuition is due in full by May. We do not send out payment reminders. Please bring cash or checks to Powers Elementary School or pay by credit card at Amherst Junior High School.  
Calamity Day Make-up Plan
Amherst Schools will be making up four calamity days on April 21, June 2, June 3, and June 4. Ohio legislation exempts the senior class from make-up days that occur AFTER their graduation date. Commencement will occur as scheduled. Seniors must report on April 21. Please select the link for the revised 2013-2014 school calendar as approved by the Board of Education. Thank you for your flexibility! 
Amherst Schools Foundation
Since 1986, the Amherst Schools Educational Foundation has awarded more than $366,000 in teacher grants and almost $200,000 in student scholarships within the Amherst community. To make a contribution to the Amherst Schools Educational Foundation, simply go to the Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County's "Make A Gift Now" webpage and type "Amherst" in the Keyword section of the donation tool bar. Select the Amherst Schools Endowment Fund or the Amherst Schools Fine Arts Endowment Fund to make a donation. It's that easy! And remember, your donation is "A gift that gives forever"!

The Board approved the 2014-2015 school year calendar. The calendar can be found under the Students & Parents tab on the Calendars page.

Amherst Schools is in the process of updating parent e-mails. Start and End Times
Powers Elementary School starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m for students in Grades 1, 2 and Full Day Kindergarten. Morning Kindergarten 9:00 a.m. to  11:45 a.m., Afternoon Kindergarten 12:45-3:30. Preschool Morning 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Afternoon Preschool 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
