Powers Art Show-November 30th
Mrs. Varouh is hosting another outstanding art show featuring first and second grade student's art work. Parents can purchase the beautifully framed pictures created by their child and the proceeds benefit the Blessing House. We hope everyone can make it to this great event. Miracle on Main Street
Kick-off the holiday season by attending Miracle on Main Street, a free family-friendly event, on Friday, December 4th! The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. with a parade down Park Avenue followed by live music and a visit from Santa Claus. Head inside the Main Street Community Center to go inside Mrs. Claus' kitchen and see model trains that are on display. Shops will remain open so you can jump start your holiday shopping. A big thank you to Sliman's for sponsoring this holiday tradition! If your Preschool through 4th Grade student would like to participate in the parade, please fill out this Participation Form by Monday, November 30th and return it to the M.S.A Office. 
Kindergarten Sing-A-Long at Steele High School
We hope you can join us for a Kindergarten Holiday Sing-A-Long at the Steele High School MPR North Gym. Please check the link for the dates and times of your child's performance.  
Grade 1 Music Program
Students in grade one do not have a winter holiday concert. They do however have a great program in the late spring. Concert dates will be posted on the web early March. 
2nd Grade Music Program
The 2nd grade class will be performing a music program on Dec. 16th at the Steele High School Cafetorium. Students in following homerooms will perform at 6:00 pm Fink, Harmych, Ramsdell, Tellier and Bierek. Students in the homerooms of Santoro, Saylor, Walther, Riegler and Wearsch will perform at 7:15.   
Pajama Day At Powers December 18th
All students at Powers are encouraged to wear their pajamas to school on December 18th. We will have a visitor here from the North Pole and each class will have their picture taken for the yearbook.  
Holiday Break Schedule
Thanksgiving Holiday-No School-November 25, 26, 27th.  Winter Break-No School December 21-January 3rd

Amherst Schools Foundation
Since 1986, the Amherst Schools Educational Foundation has awarded more than $366,000 in teacher grants and almost $200,000 in student scholarships within the Amherst community. To make a contribution to the Amherst Schools Educational Foundation, simply go to the Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County's "Make A Gift Now" webpage and type "Amherst" in the Keyword section of the donation tool bar. Select the Amherst Schools Endowment Fund or the Amherst Schools Fine Arts Endowment Fund to make a donation. It's that easy! And remember, your donation is "A gift that gives forever"!
