Mock Trial
After much preparation, Mrs. Sexton's Advanced Language Arts class participated in the ESC-sponsored Mock Trial program. Students presented their cases to real judges at the Lorain County Justice Center. One group put on a prosecution and another group the defense. Both groups won their cases!! Congratulations on a job well done!

Homework Lab
Homework Lab is a supervised setting that offers students an opportunity to complete their homework, while receiving assistance from a certified teacher. The lab meets each week, Monday through Thursday from 2:50-3:50 pm. In order to cover the expenses for this lab, there is a monthly fee that is determined by the number of actual lab days during each month - the fee breaks down to $3.00 per day. The month of January will have 14 lab days, thus the cost for the month will be $42.00. It starts on January 5th. Payment and forms are due by December 19th.

Winter Break Ice Skating

The Nord PTO has reserved North Park Ice Arena on Friday, December 26th from 10:30 to 12:30. Skating is free for the students and their families. It is $3 for each skate rental. The concession stand will be open. The rink is located at: 901 Duffey Street in Elyria, Ohio 44035.

Please join us for our Winter Break Activity. There will be skating guards on the ice, but please make sure that the kids are supervised. Please have 1 adult to every 6 kids. Thank you and feel free to contact Lynnae with any questions at 985-2118. Happy Holidays!!

Lunch Menu Change
Please make note of the following change to our lunch menu at Nord M.S. - Thursday, December 18th, we will be serving Domino's Pizza.  Friday, December 19th, we will be serving our holiday lunch. The original menu stated that the holiday lunch would be on Thursday.
Student Email Accounts

As a school district we are taking steps to enhance technology and learning in the classroom. As a result, the district has created an Amherst Google email account for all students in grades 5-12. These email accounts will allow students to safely communicate with their teachers, work collaboratively with other students, and share files without using a personal email account.

For many students, this may be their first personal email account. The good news is that these email accounts are monitored and owned by the Amherst City Schools. Therefore, unacceptable usage of the account may result in disciplinary action, loss of privileges, and access to district technology. It is our goal to help students learn to utilize email as a positive and productive tool in a school setting.

Parents: Please note that students will receive their email usernames and passwords (if they haven't already). It is the same username and password they use with Pearson to check their grades on-line.

If you have any questions, please call or email your child's teacher or Bill Miller - We are here to help.
