AJH - National Blue Ribbon School!
Congratulations to Principal Ryan Coleman and the Amherst Junior High staff on earning National Blue Ribbon School status from the US Department of Education! National Blue Ribbon Schools demonstrate that they can push all of their students to achieve at high levels. AJH was the ONLY Lorain County school, one of only three Northeast Ohio schools, and one of only fourteen schools in the state recognized this year!

Congratulating the winners, US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said "Your journey has taught you collaboration, intentional instruction, and strong relationships in school and with you community. You represent excellence - in vision, in implementation, and in results - and we want to learn as much as we can from you."  Congratulations Amherst Junior High!  Read the Blue Ribbon article from the Chronicle Telegram for more information and check out the US Department of Education's YouTube Blue Ribbon Announcement video.
Homework Lab
Homework Lab is a supervised setting that offers students an opportunity to complete their homework, while receiving assistance from a certified teacher. The lab meets each week, Monday through Thursday from 2:50-3:50 p.m. In order to cover the expenses for this lab, there is a monthly fee that is determined by the number of actual lab days during each month - the fee breaks down to $3.00 per day. The month of October will have 15 lab days, thus the cost for the month will be $45.00. It starts on October 5th. Payment and forms are due by Thursday, October 1st.
