2008-12-09On Monday, December 8th, 2008 Amherst Nord Middle School 5th & 6th graders presented their annual Fall Band Concert at the Lorain Palace to a full house under the direction of Mr. Jeff Meyers. The students ended this year's performance with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with featured conductor, Danielle Koplinka-Loehr from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Ms. "KL" spent her fall semester working with Amherst music students as part of her student teaching internship unit for the Music Education program at Oberlin College.View

2008-12-03Nord Middle School Student Council members take a trip to Golden Acres to spend some time playing games, arts and crafts, and just talking to the residents of Golden Acres.View
2008-11-25Nord sixth grader Joshua Wolf participates with guest artist Jim Gill from Young Audiences. This past week was Fine Arts week at Nord. Four different artists worked with the students throughout the day.View
2008-11-21Congratulations goes out to Arys Handley, Lindsay Sands, and Natalia Joseph as the top three winners of the "Why I say No To Drugs" essay contest for Red Ribbon Week. Winners were announced this morning at the 6th grade awards ceremony by Commander Tom DuBroy and Jim Berry of the Amherst VFW 1662. Winners received up to $200.00 saving bonds and gift certificates from local businesses. Thank you to the local VFW and the Ladies and Men's Auxiliaries.View
2008-11-11Fox 8 News, with Kenny Crumpton and Representatives from Chick-Fil-A visited Nord Middle School this morning. Nord Middle School was voted to be "A Cool School". The interviews and camera shots from this morning will be played on Thursday, November 13th between 7:00-8:00 and then again between 5:00-6:00. Thank you so much for the visit! We enjoyed having everyone visit Nord! Remember, Chick-Fil-A in North Olmsted is having a Spirit Night for Nord Middle School on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 10% of all profits will be donated back to the building that evening. Thank you to everyone who supported this opportunity.View
2008-11-06Mrs. Beetler gets taped to the wall during lunches at Nord Middle School in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Students paid a dollar for a piece of duck tape in order to make "Stuck for a Buck Day" a success this year.View
2008-10-24Mrs. Schneider leads students from Nord Middle School during Red Ribbon Week.  Wednesday was "Red" day as the students were encouraged to dress, from head to toe, in red recognizing the message of being drug free.View
2008-10-20New! Nord PTO tried a different approach to fundraising. Nord students took to the streets throughout downtown Amherst on October 10 to raise money and bring attention to physical fitness. The goal was to raise $25.00 per student. The goal for the building was to reach $15,000. Early predictions show that Nord Middle School met and possibly surpassed the total of $15,000. Top students will be awarded prizes as well as a classroom party to the top two homerooms. Thank you so much to the Nord parents who walked the course with the students.View
2008-10-14Nord students participate in a race at LCCC over the weekend. This was a culminating event for the first annual Running Cub at Nord. Thank you to Miss Palmer and Mr. Glatz for "running" this club.rnrnView
