As a school district we are taking steps to enhance technology and learning in the classroom. As a result, the district has created an Amherst Google email account for all students in grades 7-12. These email accounts will allow students to safely communicate with their teachers, work collaboratively with other students, and share files without using a personal email account.
For many students, this may be their first personal email account. The good news is that these email accounts are monitored and owned by the Amherst City Schools. Therefore, unacceptable usage of the account may result in disciplinary action, loss of privileges, and access to district technology. It is our goal to help students learn to utilize email as a positive and productive tool in a school setting.
Parents: Please note that students will receive a letter with their email usernames and passwords. It is the same username and password they use with Pearson to check their grades on-line. (Activating your Amherst issued email account is optional.)
